Solution:
If the engagement file can be opened:
- Using the Windows Task Manager confirm that no-one has an image of CaseWare opened (i.e. cwin32.exe, cvwin32.exe or cwcs.exe). If feasible, rebooting the server will reset all network images of CaseWare.
- Select Tools / Repair File to display the Repair File dialog.
- Tick all check-boxes and click the OK.
- Close the engagement file.
- The last thing that can be attempted is to create a backup by selecting File / Backup from the menus.
If the engagement file cannot be opened:
Delete all CDX files from the engagement file's folder and reopen the file.
