Where are my notes and how come I cannot insert them from the Knowledge Library?

The Financial Statements may will not have any notes if a user selects Yes to the option Use Small and Medium entity reporting standards (SME) in the ER - Financial Statement Options document.

This is because we have no content in the Knowledge Libraries for SME entities.

If you see the following messages or selections, the Notes to the Financial Statements will be empty.
  • This message will appear whilst the Financials are generating if the SME option was changed to Yes (refer: Figure 1).
  • This message will appear when a user tries to use Document | Insert > Notes to the Financial Statements from the financial menus, if the SME option was changed to Yes (refer: Figure 2).
  • The SME option is found in the Entity Structure area of ER (refer: Figure 3).

Solution:
  1. Change the Use Small and Medium entity reporting standards optionin the ER - Financial Statement Options document to No.
  2. Return to your Financial Statements and the Notes to the Financial Statements should start to be inserted.
